Let’s CHALK About DV: Branch House Family Justice Center to Host Domestic Violence Awareness Sidewalk Art Event

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Branch House Family Justice Center, along with their community partners, will be hosting a domestic violence awareness event titled, “Let’s CHALK About DV.” The event will take place on October 18th, 2023, and everyone in the community is invited to participate. The event aims to raise awareness and start a conversation surrounding the seriousness of domestic violence and the resources available to victims in our region.

Participating agencies and organizations will be provided with a bag of sidewalk chalk along with an important domestic violence fact/statistic. On the date of the event, participants are asked to write out their fact/statistic in purple chalk (purple is the designated awareness color for domestic violence) and surround it with artwork or encouraging words for survivors. Each agency will then take a photo of their artwork and send it to Branch House at Brittany@branchhousetn.org to be shared with the community.

This event is part of Branch House’s efforts to educate the community on domestic violence and victim services and is a fun way to include the community in raising awareness.
